Important update

Dear runners,

For 42 years, the Manitoba Marathon has brought our community together. Throughout, the safety and well-being of our runners, spectators, staff, volunteers and our community at-large, has been our number one priority.

Over the past several weeks, we have been monitoring updates from city, provincial, and federal governments and health agencies regarding the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The City of Winnipeg has announced that all special event permits are cancelled until June 30th, 2020.   The Manitoba Marathon Foundation will therefore postpone the race until later this year in order to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, spectators, and residents.

We are currently coordinating with the City and our partners, to secure a reschedule date for the 2020 Manitoba Marathon. We plan to reschedule for fall and will update you as soon as a date is secured. Registration is currently paused until a new date is secured.

Like you, we are very disappointed to have to move the race to a later date, but we trust all levels of leadership we are working closely with and are also adapting to the ever-changing situation. Details are still being finalized and will be communicated soon.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and concern as we develop a path forward for a rescheduled race weekend and kindly ask that you refrain from individual inquiries about the status of your race registration. We are working very hard to develop a plan that will address the many questions you may have. We will provide more details as they become available.

Thank you for your support during this trying time. We look forward to hosting you for a safe and beautiful race this fall.
