Race Update March 26

Dear runners,

For 42 years, the Manitoba Marathon has brought our community together. Throughout,
the safety and well-being of our runners, spectators, staff, volunteers and our community
at-large, has been our number one priority.

With that in mind, we are closely monitoring the developing situation with COVID-19
(coronavirus) and will continue to do so over the coming months preceding The Manitoba
Marathon.

We, like all of you, love race weekend, and we are very hopeful we will be able to proceed
with the event as planned.

Ultimately our goal is and always has been to present the safest, highest standard
experience we can for our participants and our city.

Let us reiterate that, with three months to go before our event: we have not yet made a
decision to cancel or postpone the 2020 Manitoba Marathon, though we realize that, for
public health reasons, this may be required. In the coming weeks, we will continue to
monitor the situation and, any decisions made will be made in full communication
with our local, provincial and federal officials and with your best interests in mind.

Our team is still hard at work with our preparations for this year’s event, and are keeping
our fingers crossed that we will receive the blessing of our health authorities to proceed
safely.

Please give us time as we work through this situation knowing that it is unfolding
dynamically hour by hour. We will communicate with you as soon as possible should
there be any potential changes and inform you of what our collective options are.

We are all in this together. Keep running on your own. In the meantime, be smart, wash
your hands, keep moving, and stay positive!
