Race update

Our team at the Manitoba Marathon would like to thank everyone for their patience and support during this unprecedented time. While we were heartbroken to have to postpone this year’s Father’s Day event, we have been busy creating a plan for an alternate fall date.

Sunday, October 11th, 2020 – Thanksgiving weekend – is our proposed date. The size and scale of the Marathon present significant challenges when considering our options. It was an even greater challenge to choose a date amidst an already packed fall race schedule, and still with so many unknowns. The Manitoba Marathon has always given us an opportunity to celebrate and be thankful; this year on Thanksgiving weekend it is even more so.

Registration will remain paused until we are given the all clear from the City of Winnipeg and provincial officials that we will be able to safely move forward with this date. We will stay in contact and let you know as soon as we are able to re-open registration. Additionally, we are working through our systems to see what adjustments might be necessary to keep all of our runners, volunteers and spectators safe on race weekend.

We understand that this date may not be ideal for everyone. If you have already registered for the 2020 event, you will receive an email over the next few weeks with more information regarding your registration.

In the meantime, keep running, stay active and get training for the first ever fall Manitoba Marathon! We sincerely hope that you are staying well and look forward to having you join us for all the fun and excitement of Marathon weekend in October.
